Tilt Tray and Cross Belt
A high volume continuous-loop sortation system of interconnected carriers used for handling and sorting packaged items. Tilt Tray – A series of wood trays are used to carry products; a particular tray is automatically tilted at an assigned destination or chute, allowing the object to slide or drop from the carrier at the exact moment necessary. Cross Belt – A series of powered belt units carry product to the particular order destination assigned to a chute, allowing the object to be automatically powered (“driven”) off from the belted carrier at the exact moment necessary. For both Tilt Tray and Crossbelt, line items are consolidated into the chutes where lighted displays indicate all of the items are accounted for in a particular customer order. The goods are repacked and then processed for shipment.
